Built to Last

Thanks to the fine craftsmanship and eco-friendly fabrics, Frankford Umbrellas are designed to last. In addition, our products can be repaired with readily available replacement parts as needed, which extends their lifespan. While some companies design products that only last a season or two, Frankford Umbrellas reduces landfill waste by using high-quality components and materials to provide shade season after season.

Our Fabric Partners

PFAS-infused textiles can result in harm to both the environment and human health. This is why Frankford partners with manufacturers of marine-grade fabrics like Recasens and Tempotest, who have made the transition to PFAS-free technology.

These long-lasting materials promote a circular future for textiles, where products are used for as long as possible and then recycled, eliminating waste and pollution. This change is a major shift from the "take-make-dispose" model that was previously used for decades.

By using PFAS-free materials in our products, we ensure our umbrellas can withstand everyday use season after season. These fabrics also offer the same features our customers value, such as water- and oil-repellency, stain-resistant technologies, UV protection, and antimicrobial properties, without harming the environment.

Responsible Manufacturing and Operational Systems

When we think about protecting the environment, recycling and renewable energy play a large role in our company's everyday operations.

For example, to reduce landfill waste, conserve resources, and promote a circular future for the textile industry, we now use recycled plastic bags to protect our fabric canopies, frames, and finished umbrellas during shipping and in our warehouses.

In addition, the vast amount of cardboard boxes and inserts used in shipping materials is routinely picked up by a recycling company that repurposes these items to make board games. This practice prevents cardboard from being thrown in a landfill and left to disintegrate.

In terms of renewable energy and efficiency, our factory lighting operates on motion sensors that activate only when employees are working in a specific area and automatically turn off when no movement is detected. This technology helps prevent unnecessary energy consumption.

Frankford Umbrellas is committed to manufacturing environmentally safe and responsible products. We will continue to improve our operations to protect our customers and our ecosystem.
